Preface

The purpose of this manual is to make sure that you, the reader, have enough information to start this fun hobby in a prepared and responsible way.

Keeping and taking care of squirrels is my hobby, I enjoy it every day. With lots of love and attention I make sure my squirrels get the best of the best.

This unique hobby brings a lot of joy. There is a lot to keep in mind though. For example, like any other healthy animal, squirrels get babies. Personally I get 1 or two nests a year and because I cannot keep them all myself, I give, trade or sell the majority of the young squirrels. Finding a good home for them is really important to me.

I started this hobby in 2013. The experience that I built knows highs and lows, but luckily thanks to my own experience and the experience of other passionate squirrel keepers, I now have a wide spread of knowledge when it comes to taking care of these animals.

This manual is not only for people with interest in Japanese lissen, but can also be used as a source of information about European and Siberian squirrels.
